Shomberg Guest Book
Perhaps just as rewarding as the joy of working and living with this wonderful breed is the pleasure of knowing so many great GSP people. The breed attracts delightful, down-to-earth folks from every walk of life, and when those people get to know each other, the friendships can last a lifetime. We like to think of this web site as another way in which to participate in the larger GSP community. We know we get visitors from all around the U.S. and the world, and enjoy the thought that each visitor shares the joy of knowing this wonderful breed of dogs.

Over the years many people have left wonderful notes on our guest book. Those notes can be read below, but we are no longer accepting any new entries. Alas, our very visible web site attracted a lot of random, unrelated guest book spam, too. So, we'd prefer now to hear from you directly.

Amazing web site & what wonderful pictures to follow your puppies growth! Someday, we will be contacting you about possibly having a Shomberg GSP join our family. Currently have an 11 yr old Brussels Griffon, 8 yr old GSP my husband hunts with & an Ashwood/Laurent Cocker puppy that I am learning to show with the help of Laura Heidrich. Thanks!! Leslie

Congradulations on your new arrivals, you have your hands full. They are beautiful and I look forward to watching them grow. I have watched one of your puppies (Shea) develope into a lovely bitch with Kim Abbott in WA state. To watch them together makes showing dogs look effortless. I'm still reaching to obtain that goal. Best wishes. CJ

I stumbled apon your website as I looked for pictures of GSP puppies. I am a week away from getting a GSP. I've only had one other in my life, but I enjoy them as a pet and hunting partner. This time I am getting a puppy, which I am very excited about. I just wanted to tell you that I enjoyed reading your article about raising pups. I totally agree with you 100%. Even if you use your dog as a hunter, the affection you give them can never be enough. I've seen hunting dogs treated too much like a hunting tool instead of a family member. I've treated my dogs with the love they need and it only enhances their spirit and ability in the field. Thanks for caring! Eric

Hi- Anne Marie and I are sure glad that we stuck with our choice to take on FAITH as our first liver GSP. She is a hand full at times, but well worth the HIGH ENERGY always on the go,that she always presents us with. As of today she is the #5 GSP in the country and still ready to keep climing. We are thrilled with her. See you soon.

Amazing how things happen ~ I've known Steve for many years and never knew about his passion for dogs until today. After a brief conversation he shared a beautiful championship picture and web site information. My love for our four legged friends is endless and I am proud to call Steve a friend. Only the best of the best are so devoted and after looking at their accomplishments it is obvious that Steve and his wife are the best. I wish them continued success and many many puppy kisses!

Hi Sharon and Steve, Just thought to stop by to let you know that Bebel, Moby and I are spending some time in Rio, Brazil! No one seems to have seen a brown pointer before around here and these guys are very popular now. We go to the beach almost every day and they just love it!!! But time to go back home (DC) is approaching... I'm sure they will always remember their summer in Rio. Cheers, Marcia

Hi, Sharon, I got the link for your web site from Dawn McDonough. We are considering one of Logan's puppies as a new addition to our family. Your tribute to Feather made me cry. Our GSP died on April 16. He was 15. We are so sad but at the same time we know we were lucky to have such a great friend. I am very sorry for your loss. This site is wonderful and what a dedication to the breed. We have owned GSP's since we were first married in 1977. We have never shown them , but along with our three children we have always loved them as our pets. We have always found that having a brace was always best for all of us. We would like to foster GSP's, but we are not sure how to go about this. Once again, thanks for this wonderful site gsplover2@optonline.net

My son has a German Shorthair, and she is just like family. I don't have any papers on her, but my son has taught her to ride on his jet ski with him her brown ears flapping in the wind, and she also enjoys riding on the ATVs with him. When we decide to go fishing and we aren't catching fish, she goes over and puts her paw on the trolling motor remote. She is a hoot.

I wanted to thank you for the time you gave me on the phone. Your website is fantastic and the pictures of the dogs are even better. I told my family about the due date (February 9th) they all gasped. My six yeat old said that was Gage's birthday. I'm looking forward to the e-mail. Thank you and I'll be in touch. Jason

Dear Sharon, Thanks so much for all the time you spent with me on the phone. I enjoyed our conversation & couldn't wait to see the website. It's really great so much info. The dogs are gorgeous. I hope things will work out for us to be one of the lucky families to be able to have one of those beautiful pups from your next litter. Please keep us updated. Hope your feeling better.

Your site it wonderful. I have been owned by my very first GSP since last July. He is a joy to have around. I took him to the Nationals last week and it was a fantastic experience. He took 1st in his class in the Sweeps and then BOS in the Sweeps. That was just the first day. We were thrilled. Hope to meet you someday. Maybe in Houston in July. We'll be there.

Steve and Sharon, Love Cinder's picture in front of the window. Of course maybe that is because I am biased. I wish you could have had a camera to take pictures of her at the specialty because from your description she sounds like she was quite the entertainment. As always love the site. Thanks for all your continued supprt of our Marco kids. Hunter will be out soon in the ring with his half sister Monroe.

What a delight this website is! I have spent a lot of time admiring your beautiful dogs. What was most enjoyable was seeing the picture of Toni Demaine holding her puppy, Skye! Toni's daughter and I grew up together and it was "Morgan", her first GSP, that made me fall in love with this breed! I've got a call into Cameron now because it just brought the biggest smile to my face!

Hi Sharon and Steve. Just looking over the web site. I went to see the latest pictures of Tierney. What a beautiful girl. You would not believe the looks we get at the hunt tests, from judges and owners alike. She is a hunting fool. What a wonderful web site. You and Matt working together have done a fabulous job. I have known you guys for about 8 years now and you have given me so much joy in letting me get to know this wonderful breed and in providing me with my sweethearts -- Sophie and Tierney. And of course Ayers and Briar both coming from your breeding also. I see every kind of dog imaginable, and I wouldn't take any for my Shorthairs.

Love you guys -- Brenda

I barely made it out of that show without your liver pup tucked under my arm! I have retained your business card as I loved the dogs you were showing. I'm not ready to buy yet, but will stay in touch. Please let me know if you will be at any other shows in the upcoming months in the NY, NJ or Ct areas. Many thanks, and good luck.

What a great job you have done to improve this great breed, and to be connected to it makes me very happy. With Keeper in the background, things can get only better. Between him and your bitches you have bred to him to get great stock, the breed is headed in the right direction. Thanks for my birthday gift. I'm glad to be a part of all this. Hug that little ASH and tell her to be good. Love from all of us Ginny, Tootsie and Colin

What a beautiful representation of your life's work! Although most professional it is obvious this has been a labor of love. I am proud to let everyone visiting this site know that I am Steve's Sister. Steve and Sharon were my first mentors when I got started in breeding and exhibiting and gave me the encouragement and confidence I so badly needed to continue. Thank you guys for helping me and for all that you have given to dogdom. There must be a special place in heaven for people like you because God knows that DOG is His name spelled backwards!

Well, what can I say. I got to see this site while it was still in the making, and it is wonderful!!! I love to look back at the "good old times" and wonder where did the time go. Since many of these are my grandchildren and great grandchildren, I can just beam with pride at the legacy Keeper has left with these Kids and others. And this new litter, is outstanding!! Now as, not only gramma of Ms. Monroe, but her handler, what a trip!!! All I can say is "Onward and Upward!!" While Monroe is up here and my little solid liver devil, Cinder is down there, give her a hug for me. I give Monroe lots of hugs for you.:-) Patty
