2008 GSPCA National Specialty Show
Olympia Resort & Conference Center
Oconomowoc, Wisconsin
Our beautiful Monroe was awarded the 2008 GSPCA Show Dam of the Year Award for
producing 8 champions offspring titled in conformation during the 2007 year. What a wonderful
honor!
She is now:
Multiple BIS/NSC/CH. Shomberg's Some Like It Hot ROM
Monroe was also awarded the newly recognized ROM (Registry of Merit Award) as a Top Producing Dam in our breed and this is an AKC recognized title that is now added to her name along with her other existing titles.
Ch. Shomberg's Browning Citori, our
"Marco," was also awarded the
ROM title, as well, for a
Top Producing Sire having 20 titled conformation champions among other titles awarded to his offspring. This was an especially emotional tribute and one that we are terribly proud to have.
Our Junior Exhibitor, Tayler Dolmajer, was successful at the National Specialty Show as she made the "final cut" in Open Bitch competition with
Shomberg's Olympic Gold, "Lily" in a large and heavily contested class. We are thrilled for Tayler and very proud.
In Junior Showmanship competition,
Tayler was awarded a 3rd place rosette and GSPCA Armetale plate in a large Open Intermediate Class by
breeder-judge Mrs. Betsy Yates of Ohio. What an exciting win! As soon as pictures become available we'll be posting online for everyone to see.
Way to go Tayler & "Lily"!
Recognized in the GSPCA Top
Twenty-Five Competition was Multiple Best In Specialty Show and Group Winning Ch. Shomberg's Celestial "D"Livery
("Faith"), a stunning solid liver ranked at # 13 in the country for 2007. Faith is owned by
John & Anne Marie Tierney of NY and was beautifully presented as always by
Patty Crowley.
Also recognized in the Top Twenty-Five Competition was
Multiple Best In Specialty Show and Group Winning Ch. Shomberg's One Hot Ticket Depp-Haus
("Simmer"), a sound and beautiful young bitch ranked #15 in the country. Simmer is owned by
Jim Deppen & Mimi Winkler of PA and she was beautifully presented by her sire's owner,
Sue Harrison of Wyndbourne German Shorthaired
Pointers.
Representing "Shomberg" in Best Of Breed Competition were four lovely bitches from our breeding program.
CH. Shomberg's Can't Beat The Heat
-- "Sula" (owned and expertly presented by
Katherine Cronyn of CA),
CH. Shomberg's One Hot Number
-- "Mya" (owned by
Carl & Kahla Ennis of VA), and those mentioned above --
CH. Shomberg's One Hot Ticket Depp-Haus, and
CH. Shomberg's Celestial "D"Livery. While they didn't win the breed this time, they were applauded and cheered by the crowd as they performed so beautifully and made their owners and us just burst with pride in watching them.
It is impossible to be anything but terribly proud of every single award and each of the beautiful dogs who represent Shomberg in such an outstanding manner. We are especially grateful to the owners of these outstanding dogs for the opportunities they allow them. It is an honor to have them shown to represent us and our efforts to produce this level of quality in our breed. We are proud to call them "family"! And, we are so appreciative to
professional handler, Patty
Crowley, who always exhibits our dogs in such professional and talented way that is born from a deep love for our breed and a deep and cherished friendship with us for these many years.
We sincerely thank everyone who helped to make us
and "Shomberg" look so good!
